Immersing herself in a world of dummies, documentary maker Rachael Allan has captured the life and times of New Zealand’s last mannequin factory, Purfex.
This is director Rachael Allan’s first full length documentary. Coincidentally, Rachael grew up around the area and attended Avondale College (as did Glen Wilkin-Holland, owner of Purfex). She is a graduate of South Seas Film & TV School, with a Bachelor of International Communication from Unitec. Rachael juggles research work for a TV production company and a job in the health sector. She is looking forward to more documentary making in future.
The Purfex story has been made with support from ASB Community Trust and The Depot (Devonport).
